PULLMAN, Wash. — Several programs are scheduled this week as Washington State University celebrates Native American Month.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, Patricia Murphy Jones will talk during a 4:15 p.m. program at Wilson Hall, Room 13. Jones, a member of the Nez Perce tribe and a Moscow Pullman Daily News editorial board member, will talk on “Uniting the Past and the Present.”
Margaret Saluskin Flintknife is guest speaker at a 4:30 p.m. program in Cleveland Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Yakama Tribe member will talk on Native American fishing rights and how they have affected the tribe.
Musician Jim Boyd will perform from 6-7:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Compton Union Building Auditorium. A member of the Colville Tribe, Boyd’s songs were used extensively in the movie “Smoke Signals.”
The programs are open to the public without charge.
