WSU INVESTIGATING SERIES OF SMALL, OVERNIGHT FIRES
PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University public safety officers are investigating a series of small fires set early Friday morning at several campus locations.
Fire crews responded to the first fire in a trash can outside Perham Hall at 3.20 a.m. At 4:03, they responded to a second fire set in a dumpster outside Stimson Hall. Exterior emergency sprinklers controlled both of the fires.
Three small trash fires were ignited in elevator lobby and parking and storage sections of the new Holland Library about 4:17 a.m. Automatic sprinklers were activated. Equipment and landscaping items were damaged, but no loss of library materials.
Crews returned to Perham Hall about 4:41 a.m. to extinguish the last fire in an outside trash dumpster.
