Trio Receives WSU Faculty Awards May 9

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Grammy Award-winning group All-4-One will perform at Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
All-4-One was introduced in early 1994 with its update of the Tymes’ 1963 doo-wop classic, “So Much In Love.” In the United States, the track climbed to Record Industry Association of America gold sales and top-five pop status.
Next came the ballad “I Swear,” which claimed the No. 1 pop spot for 11 straight weeks on the American chart en route to RIAA platinum sales. Not only was “I Swear” 1994’s biggest-selling U.S. single, but it also became the third most successful single of the rock era. Meanwhile, sales of All-4-One’s self-titled debut album, released April 1994, skyrocketed past the five million mark.
The group won official kudos with the American Music Awards for Favorite New Soul/R&B Artist and the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “I Swear,” which they performed on Grammy night.
All-4-One was heard on the soundtrack to the Walt Disney Pictures animated feature film “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and on Atlantic’s RIAA quintuple-platinum smash “Space Jam” soundtrack. In 1996, the quartet also completed an extensive tour of Southeast Asia, along with a yearlong North American tour in support of “And The Music Speaks.”
The $21.50 tickets are available at Beasley Coliseum and all G&B Select-A-Seat outlets or by phone at 800/325-SEAT. They also can be ordered online at .
