PULLMAN, Wash. — Visiting artist Anna Hepler will discuss her works during an April 9 talk set for Washington State University’s Fine Arts Auditorium at 7 p.m.
Hepler’s most recent works include charcoal drawings of sculpted biomorphic forms, drypoints of insect legs drawn to scale, and an installation composed of 365 porcelain slip-cast forms inspired by cell division. Currently, Hepler is exploring chaotic patterns as represented in the movement and shapes of insect swarms.
Hepler is a sculptor, printmaker, painter and book artist. Some of her work can be found in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Tate Gallery and the Library of Congress.
Hepler received a master’s degree in painting and drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. She is a visiting artist at Whitman College in Walla Walla.
Hepler’s visit is presented by the Fine Arts Department. The Fine Arts Auditorium is Room 7054 in the Fine Arts Building.
