SPOKANE, Wash.–Let’s hope for no power failures during Oct. 21-23, while many of the country’s leading experts on prevention and recovery of such mishaps attend the 24th Annual Western Protective Relay Conference in Spokane’s International Ag Trade Center.
About 450 power protection relay engineers and manufacturers will learn about such problems as voltage collapse, “The Summer of our Disconnects,” testing for routine maintenance, how NOT to apply reliable relaying principles, and innovative solutions to protection of transmission lines, ground faults, generators and systems. Vendors will display the latest protective relay devices and technologies.
Sponsored by Washington State University’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the conference affords continuing education credits for professional development.
