Social sciences grant writing workshop applications due

“Nuts & Bolts of Social Sciences Grant Proposals” is a four-week course designed specifically for faculty in the social sciences who are either new to WSU grant writing or who want to hone their skills.

The course consists of four 1.5-hour sessions, including lectures, participant discussion, take-home assignments, and in-class sharing and feedback on the take-home assignments. Participants will be provided with grant-writing tools and copies of the lecture slides. Sessions will be presented virtually and in-person in the Pullman Office of Research conference room (Lighty 280) on Wednesdays, Oct. 2–23, from 2:30–4 p.m.

Session topics will include:

  • “Seeking Support: Finding funding with Pivot and reading the request for proposals (RFP)”
  • “The Written Word: Specific aims and narrative”
  • “Supplements and Submission: Supplementary documents and submitting your proposal”
  • “Mock Review and Feedback”

Interested faculty are invited to submit an online application and a letter of support from the department chair by Sept. 15. Contact the Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships at or.orap.servicedesk@wsu.edu with any questions regarding the workshop or the application process.
