WSU Celebrates 7th Annual ‘WSU in Seattle’ Week With Multitude of Events

SEATTLE, Wash. – Washington State University has a number of academic, alumni and entertainment events planned for its seventh annual “WSU in Seattle” week Sept. 9-12, which will be highlighted by the Cougar Gridiron Classic at Quest Field, where WSU will take on the Warriors of the University of Hawaii.

The football game is set for a 4 p.m. kick off Sept. 12 at Qwest Field. For ticket information, visit www.wsucougars.com or call (800) GO-COUGS. The Cougar Pregame Rally, a great WSU football experience for fans of all ages, will run from 1 p.m. until game time at the Qwest Field Event Center, 800 Occidental Ave., South Seattle. The rally will feature the WSU Cougar Marching Band, cheer squad and Butch, the WSU Cougar mascot.

Also prior to the game, a free Future Cougar Day academic fair at the Qwest Field Event Center will provide the chance to learn more about opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional education at WSU. The week also will mark the fall kickoff of WSU’s “Innovators” luncheon series, in which leading faculty experts explore a variety of topics of significance to Washington and the world. The series will begin Sept. 10 with Professor Sue Clark discussing how her work is contributing to improved nuclear activity detection and safeguards in a presentation entitled, “Nuclear Ambition: Securing America and Our Energy Future,” in Seattle at noon on Sept. 10. The presentation will be in the Cirrus Ballroom of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel,1400 6th Avenue.
