Alumnus heads sales and marketing

PULLMAN – Alumnus Paul Sorensen has been named sales and marketing director of the Palouse Ridge Golf Club at WSU.

A 1983 WSU College of Business graduate, Sorensen has strong Cougar ties. He was a fifth-round NFL draft choice of the Cincinnati Bengals in 1982 and a first-team football all-American. He continues to be intertwined with WSU and its supporters.

Sorensen’s role will be to expand on golf course memberships, sponsorships and tournament rounds, as well as developing and implementing national, regional and community sales and promotional programs.

“Paul’s expertise is a perfect match in building Palouse Ridge,” said Mel Taylor, WSU executive director of external affairs.

Since 1985, Sorensen has been a radio and television color analyst for WSU, Eastern Washington University, Spokane Shock and various community broadcasts. He has more than 25 years of outside sales experience, including Service Paper, Inc., and Dynasplint Systems, Inc.

He has served on numerous board of directors including National Football Foundation, Ronald MacDonald House (Spokane), Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Washington Substance Abuse Coalition, United Way, El Katif Shrine Temple, Freeborn Mason (Spangle), and continues to be an IEBUA High School and College Baseball Umpire.

Paul, his wife, Vicci, and their children reside in the Spokane area.
