Henry Moore, photographer II in the veterinary medicine biomedical communications unit, took the photos of Gunther’s paintings that are used in this sound slide.
Original paintings by Gudrun Gunther, a WSU veterinary medicine student who graduates this spring, are on exhibit in the Animal Health Library, Wegner 170.
A wine-and-cheese open house is planned 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, April 10. If possible, please RSVP for the open house to Vicki Croft at croft@vetmed.wsu.edu .
One of Gunther’s works previously was featured on the cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (Sept 15, 2006).

Gunther was raised in Libby, Mont., and studied art and neuroscience at Brown University in Providence, R.I. She loves portraying the inner soul of beloved pets in her favorite medium, oil paint.
Prior to veterinary school, she was a Peace Corps volunteer and served in Tanzania. In addition to her time in East Africa, Gunther has traveled extensively around the world, including Pakistan, Cambodia, Thailand and Malawi.
Following graduation, she hopes to work in a mixed practice in the Pacific Northwest and to focus on dogs, cats and horses. She also plans to continue painting.
