Kevin Canty reads from new short-story collection

PULLMAN – Fiction writer Kevin Canty will read from his sixth book at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in Kimbrough 101 as part of the WSU ember Visiting Writers Series.
 
The book is a collection of stories, “Where the Money Went,” released in July. Canty authored two previous collections of short stories, “Honeymoon” and “A Stranger in this World,” and three novels, “Nine Below Zero,” “Into the Great Wide Open” and “Winslow in Love.”
 
His short stories have appeared magazines such as the New Yorker, Esquire, Tin House, GQ, Glimmer Train, Story and the New England Review. He has published essays and articles in Vogue, Details, the New York Times and the Oxford American, among many others. His work has been translated into French, Dutch, Spanish, German, Polish and Italian.
 
A graduate of the MFA program at the University of Arizona, he  lives and writes in Missoula, Mont.

Upcoming guests of the series will include poets Kate Greenstreet, Oct. 12, Margo Tamez, Nov. 12, and Sarah Vap, Dec. 3.

LandEscapes and the English Club will provide refreshments for the readings.
