Career Fundamentals: new training series

Helping employees enhance their careers, jobs and work-life management is the focus of a new training series starting Oct. 1 from Human Resource Services.

Each course in the nine-courses series will be presented by WSU employees with professional expertise in the topics.

The courses will cover: resumé-building and interviewing techniques, skills assessment, WSU employment regulations, communication, work-life balance and more.

“The goal of the series is to help employees at all levels of the university develop strategies with which to examine their career paths and organizational effectiveness,” said Human Resource Services Interim Director Theresa Elliot-Cheslek.

The series kicks off Oct. 1 with a presentation by Residence Life Associate Directors Edwin Hamada and Kari Fass entitled “Communication in the Workplace: Developing Relationships to Help You, Your Team and Your Department Achieve More.”

This training series is open to all WSU employees, and there are no session fees. However, space is limited. To view the complete schedule and enroll online, visit www.hrs.wsu.edu/Career.
