PULLMAN, Wash.—The Washington State University School of Music Opera Workshop will present “Baby” at 8 p.m. July 18-19 and 25-26 in Bryan Hall Theater. Tickets for the show will be $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults.

A perfect show for a university town and anyone who’s ever had a child, “Baby” tells the story of three couples on a university campus as they deal with the painful, rewarding and agonizingly funny consequences of pregnancy and new parenting.

Written by Sybille Pearson and with music and songs by David Shire and Richard Maltby Jr., the WSU production is directed by WSU associate professor of music Julie Wieck.

Richard Kriehn, the music program coordinator, will be preparing and conducting the orchestra.  James Harris is designing the set and lights, as well as building the show. The accompanist is senior music major, Joe Sartori.

The cast includes Dallas Rawlins, senior in political science; Jordyn Palmer, junior in music education; Jared Johnson, sophomore in music education; Nicole Lesley, junior in theatre; Aaron Zassenhaus, junior in music education; and Kate Blackman, senior in music education.

This play has been partially funded by the SEB and Summer Programs at WSU.
