Men’s Rowing Club pulls for March of Dimes

Men’s Rowing Club Coach Arthur Ericsson looks at digital readout on team member’s rowing machine during Wednesday’s fundraiser

The WSU Men’s Rowing Club pulled for 24 hours — from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday — on Terrell Mall to raise money for the March of Dimes and their own support.

During that time they digitally rowed an amazing 2.2 million meters.

Led by Coach Arthur Ericsson, the rowing club’s first regatta is slated for this weekend on the Spokane River, as hosted by Gonzaga University.

Ericsson said he was thankful for the sunny but brisk weather, as in past years the team has had to endure rain, wind and colder temperatures.

Because the Men’s Rowing is a club sport at WSU, it is not supported financially by the university, making fundraisers like this necessary for equipment and travel. The team will use its share of the proceeds from this event  to travel to races all over the west coast.
