WSU Tri-Cities Recognizes Fall Nursing Grads Thursday

RICHLAND, Wash. — Fall graduates from the Washington State University Tri-Cities Intercollegiate College of Nursing will be honored Thursday, Dec. 6, at a Convocation ceremony.
 
About 15 students will be recognized during the 7 p.m. ceremony at the Shilo Inn, 50 Comstock Ave., Richland. Convocation is a thoughtful occasion where faculty, staff, medical professionals, and students celebrate the hard work of the Falll 2007 graduating class.
 
Speakers include Anne Hirsch, the Intercollegiate of Nursing Senior Associate Dean, WSU Tri-Cities nursing instructors Norma Garcia-Meraz and Annette McClendon, graduate student Shelanne Lighthouse, and members of the graduating bachelor’s of nursing class. Miss Tri-Cities Kristin Cox will perform on the alto saxophone and Kyna Harris, the Miss Tri-Cities first runner up, will sing.
 
The event concludes with a special candlelight ceremony and the pinning of the nursing graduates. A reception follows. The event is open to the public.
 
With the Dec. 14 end of fall semester, four students will receive their master’s degree in nursing and 11 students will earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing from WSU Tri-Cities.
