Washington State University College of Business Celebrates 50 Years of Graduate Education

PULLMAN, Wash. — To mark the 50th anniversary of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree offering at its Pullman campus,  the Washington State University College of Business will hold its Class of 2007 reception for graduating MBA students on May 4. The event will also commemorate the graduation of the first cohort of students studying under the college’s newly re-engineered MBA program.

“The graduation of our first formal cohort is an exciting milestone for the WSU MBA program and a great way to start our 50th anniversary celebration,” said David Sprott, associate dean of the college’s graduate programs.

The redesigned program expands upon 50 years of excellence in MBA education by focusing on enhancing the opportunities for MBA students with hands-on, real-world experiences, including:

Live consulting projects
Service-learning projects
Required summer internship
Study abroad with WSU faculty
Executive Speaker series
Field trips
Prestigious business plan competition
Attendance at college-sponsored networking events

Such events provide an array of opportunities for students to begin networking, obtain potential job offers, and be introduced to various internship possibilities. MBA students also have the benefit of a dedicated MBA placement coordinator and frequent employer visits.

The College of Business is part of an elite group of business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at the bachelor, master, and doctoral degree levels. The college’s advanced degree program consists of the MBA, a Master of Accounting degree and a doctoral degree in business.
