BELLEVUE – WSU President Elson S. Floyd will deliver the keynote address at the Student Biotech Expo May 28, at 8 a.m. at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
Floyd will discuss the importance of mentorship and scientific literacy. In an era when biotechnology is both increasingly sophisticated and ever more fundamental to the way we live our lives, Floyd will talk about the need to enhance public understanding of scientific issues.
The Student Biotech Expo is the culminating event of an innovative science education outreach program.
It engages more than 300 Seattle-area high school students from 21 schools in real-world applications of new frontiers in biology.
The event is sponsored by the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research.
