Study Abroad Representatives Visit Campus for Education Abroad Fair

PULLMAN, Wash.– The Washington State University Education Abroad Fair will be held from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sept. 6 on the Holland Library Lawn. Students can visit the fair to talk with 25 study abroad program providers offering study opportunities in over 40 countries.

In addition, WSU faculty will be present to share information on programs that they will lead this spring and summer. Faculty-led programs are growing in popularity and offer a unique opportunity for in-depth field-based study. One such program is “Global Resources: Italian Style,” a program in Florence, Italy offered by the School of Economic Sciences. Other current faculty-led program locations include South Africa, Thailand and Turkey.

The Education Abroad Fair is a bi-annual event that allows students to speak directly with program providers about study abroad opportunities. The Education Abroad office staff will be available to answer questions and explain the education abroad process at WSU.

WSU sent 520 students abroad last year. These students returned with exciting and diverse experiences to share with the Pullman academic community. A visit to the Education Abroad Fair could be the first step to expanding a student’s world and gaining vitally important cross-cultural competencies.
