Casey Murrow, Radulovich and Weiss to Speak About Broadcast Legend Edward R. Murrow

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Student Entertainment Board in conjunction with Cable 8 Productions, will host a free screening of “Good Night and Good Luck” at 6 p.m. April 17 in the Compton Union Building Auditorium. Immediately following the screening will be a question and answer session with Casey Murrow, Milo Radulovich and Stephen Weiss.

The three speakers have connections to broadcast legend Edward R. Murrow. Casey Murrow is Edward R. Murrow’s son. Murrow, who was a child when his father became a legend, is the family spokesperson. He is an education specialist living in Putney, Vt.

Radulovich, a former reserve Air Force lieutenant, was accused by Sen. Joseph McCarthy of being a communist in 1953. “Good Night and Good Luck” documents Murrow’s report that later cleared Radulovich. The story helped pave the way for future reports exposing McCarthy.

A decorated World War II veteran, former psychotherapist and research fellow in the war studies department at Kings College London, Weiss knew Murrow from his time in the Office of Information and the United States War Department. After the war, he worked with Murrow at CBS and ABC, including the show “Person to Person.”

Media Advisory: Murrow, Radulovich and Weiss will be available to the press from 7 to 7:40 p.m. At approximately 7:45 p.m., they will answer questions from WSU students.
