WSU Vancouver Student Named NCEEA Student of the Year

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Washington State University Vancouver student Kiri Horsey has been named the Northwest Career Educators and Employers Association (NCEEA) 2006 Student of the Year. This entitles Horsey to an $800 scholarship and recognition at their annual conference in Bremerton, Wash. on May 18. 

Horsey is currently the vice president for the Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver (ASWSUV). A senior double majoring in psychology and human development, Horsey is expected to graduate this May with honors.  

In addition to her position with ASWSUV, Horsey is a Hope Bereavement Services Stepping Stones Group Facilitator for Southwest Washington Medical Center, a treasurer of Kappa Omicron Nu (National Honor’s Society for Human Development students), and a member of Psi Chi (National Honor’s Society for Psychology students).

The Northwest Career Educators and Employers Association (NCEEA) is a partnership of business, industry, government, colleges, and universities. NCEEA members are primarily located in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The organization was formed to promote the issues related to employment, recruitment, work-based learning, cooperative education, internships, field experience, volunteer opportunities, career development and other related workforce issues.

WSU Vancouver offers 14 bachelor’s and nine master’s degrees in more than 35 fields of study. The campus is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205.
