John Ashcroft Available to Media April 12 in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Former Attorney General John Ashcroft will speak at Washington State University Vancouver’s Fourth Annual Public Affairs Distinguished Lecture Series April 12.

Immediately following the lecture, Ashcroft will meet with media for 15 minutes. Media representatives interested in accessing the media room will need to contact Beth Montee, WSU Vancouver, at 360-546-9600 or montee@vancouver.wsu.edu by April 11 to receive a media pass. Only members of the media who have passes from WSU Vancouver will be granted access to the media room.


Ashcroft is scheduled to speak on “National Security and Civil Liberties in the 21st Century.”  The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Skyview High School, 1300 N.W. 139th St., in Vancouver.

WSU Vancouver offers 14 bachelor’s and nine master’s degrees in over 35 fields of study. The campus is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205.
