The 2006 WSU Benefit Production of “The Vagina Monologues” Will Hold Open Dress Rehearsal

PULLMAN, Wash. — The women of the 2006 Washington State University benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” invite WSU students, staff, faculty and Pullman community members to join them as they prepare for opening night.

An open dress rehearsal will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Compton Union Building auditorium. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.

“The Vagina Monologues” is a play based on Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women about their experiences with sex, violence, and life in general. The result is a combination of voices with happy, sad, funny, heartbreaking, empowering and outrageous stories to tell. “The Vagina Monologues” are part of V-Day, a worldwide effort to stop violence against women through education, awareness and fundraising.

The 2006 WSU benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will be performed Feb. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m., and Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Student tickets are $6 and non-student tickets are $8. All proceeds will be donated to Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, The Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the 2006 V-Day Spotlight: Justice to ‘Comfort Women.’
