WSU Tri-Cities Hosts Cougar Saturday in Richland Oct. 29

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Washington State University Tri-Cities will host Cougar Saturday, a bachelor’s and graduate degree information day, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 29 in Room 120 of the Consolidated Information Center.

A pair of $500 WSU scholarships will be awarded to lucky attendees, and there will be additional random drawings for WSU Bookie merchandise.

“Cougar Saturday is a chance for people to learn about all the degree programs available at WSU Tri-Cities,” said Patricia Wright, director of student affairs. “We’ll provide complete details about financial aid, scholarships available, entrance and degree requirements and course information. And we’ll cover everything a student needs to know. Counseling sessions will also be available.”

Included in the sessions will be information on each of WSU Tri-Cities’ more than 30 degree and certificate programs. Faculty members from academic areas including business, computer science, education, engineering, science, liberal arts, nursing and representatives from the admissions office will be there to answer questions.

WSU mascot Butch T. Cougar is set to attend; He will help direct traffic and stir up some school spirit prior to the kickoff of the football game against USC in Los Angeles, which follows after the noon close of the sessions.

Participants are invited to attend a free “big screen party” of the game and enjoy complimentary food and nonalcoholic beverages, provided by the Associated Students of WSU Tri-Cities. The party activities will take place in the Student Lounge of the campus’ West Building.
