Four WSU Vancouver Students Receive Full-Tuition Waivers for Academic Merit

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver has awarded the Community College President’s Award to four outstanding students.   



The award is a renewable full-tuition waiver valued at $2,753 per semester for the 2005-2006 school year. 



The recipients, who are now in attendance at WSU Vancouver, include the following:



Maria Cook, a Toledo resident, is a junior studying public affairs. She previously attended Centralia College; Steven Gresswell, a Camas resident, is a junior studying biology. He previously attended Clark College; Sherry Murphy, a Vancouver resident, is a senior studying social sciences. She previously attended Clark College; and Jennifer McLean, a Longview resident, is a junior studying business. She previously attended Lower Columbia College.



The waiver recipients are transfer students to WSU Vancouver who were nominated by their respective community colleges in southwest Washington. Selection criteria included academic merit as well as a high standard of engagement in the college or local community. 



WSU Vancouver is an upper-division and graduate campus that offers 15 bachelor’s and nine master’s degrees in more than 35 fields of study. The campus is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205.
