PULLMAN, Wash. Jim Treadway, chief executive officer of MTM Luxury Lodging, L.L.C., will be the guest speaker for the Washington State University School of Hospitality Business Management’s 25th annual Burtenshaw Lecture at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in Todd Hall 116.
A 3 p.m. reception will precede Treadway’s lecture, which is entitled “Life, Lodging, Luxury, and WWF.”

A former board member and executive committee member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, Treadway is also a past president of Washington State’s Hotel and Lodging Association. The Burtenshaw Lecture Series is free and open to the public. The series was created by alumnus Jerry (’56 Hotel and Restaurant Administration) and Angelina Burtenshaw to honor the memory of their son, Calvin Brett. Since the series’ first speaker in 1981, guest presenters have included top names, experts, and entrepreneurs in the field of hospitality. Their topics have covered a wide range of industry and timely subjects, and students, faculty, staff, and members of the community attend the annual or biannual lectures. The Burtenshaws also created a memorial scholarship for students in Hospitality Business Management in their son’s name.
