WSU CAHNRS to Honor Students and Employees at Awards Banquet

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences will hold their 47th Spring Awards Banquet during Mom’s Weekend on April 8. Each year the college recognizes excellence, initiative, creativity, service, leadership and scholarship in their students, staff and faculty.

This year, the student award winners will be selected by five selection committees from a list of 43 nominees. The selections are confidential until they are announced at the banquet. However, nominated individuals who are not located on the WSU Pullman campus will be notified prior to the banquet if they did not receive the award.

The list of 2006 CAHNRS awards for students are: outstanding freshman; outstanding junior – human sciences; outstanding junior – agriculture; family and consumer scientist of the year; aggie of the year; and outstanding seniors.

Awards for faculty and staff include the Advisor Excellence Award, Extension Faculty Excellence Award and the R.M. Wade Teaching and Learning Award.

Students on the CAHNRS Dean’s Honor Roll for graduating seniors will also be recognized and given honor cords to wear at commencement. To be eligible, students must have earned at least 36 hours at WSU and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, up to their final semester.
