Northwest Public Radio to Hold Online Auction

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s Northwest Public Radio, has started to procure items and services from businesses for its first-ever online auction Feb. 3-12  to contribute to the operations of the university’s public radio service.

The theme for the auction includes four categories: art, food, travel and wine. Businesses who contribute items or services will have a photo of their donated item(s) with a description and link to their Web site posted on the Northwest Public Radio Web site, www.nwpr.org.

“We’re just trying to test the waters and see if businesses are interested in participating and getting attention for their products,” said Tom Hungate, auction coordinator. Using the Web site to auction items of interest to the station’s audience was a logical extension to help with fundraising and to engage the audience, he said.

The auction will be promoted to Northwest Public Radio’s entire listening audience from Bellingham and Port Angeles to Wenatchee, Yakima, Tri-Cities, Walla Walla and Pullman/Moscow.

The Northwest Public Radio Web site provides news information, program schedules, sponsor information and links to audio streaming of their two services: NPR and Classical Music and Your NPR News Station. The online auction will benefit the businesses that contribute items to the auction.

For more information on the auction, contact Hungate at (509) 335-6537 or see the online donor form at www.nwpr.org.
