
Couples spent the noon hour on t he mall “making out” to make a point--“Make out, not war.”
“We are trying to get people’s eyes open,” said Achille Davisson, a sophomore history major assisting with the demonstration.
The Young Democrats and Progressive Student Union hosted the event, “Make out, not war” in which 10 students used public displays of affection to raise awareness about the organizations and pass out fliers with candy and a “Happy Valentine’s Day” message.
At the same time, students were also giving out free hugs.
