The search function in the upper right corner of WSU’s Web home pages has a new look, but still provides the same site and directory searches as always — with a new efficiency.
The new tool searches both WSU Web pages and the university’s online telephone directory at the same time, eliminating the need to choose “site” or “person” (directory) options at the first search.
The first screen presents all Web results for all campuses. The Web results can be narrowed by clicking on the tab for one of WSU’s four campuses.
For telephone numbers and email addresses directory results, use the upper tabs on the results page and choose either Faculty & Staff or Students to see listings. Those tabs will have numbers showing how many people with that name are in the directory.
Also, for the first time, you can do a search for a “department” and get both Web page results and directory results for those in the department. You can also search using just a first name.
The new search function is offered on WSU’s main home page, ONLINE @ www.wsu.edu. It also is used on the three home pages listed in the aqua banner on the main page: Current Students, Faculty & Staff and Alumni & Friends.
