Artist Kris Haas produced a new show especially for Washington State University Vancouver, on display through Oct. 4 in the Administration building.
Haas’ paintings reach a level of explosive color that is undeniably unique; they are a constant exploration of the human experience involved in the act of creation. Over the past 12 years Haas’ work has been recognized in international juried competitions. She has been involved in numerous group shows while at the same time meeting the demands for eight solo exhibits.
She says her work is about uncovering the self, an exploration of the self’s experiences in life and how a life is affected by all that is absorbed day to day. She also believes she is a wordless story teller and that art should not be allowed, or allow itself, to be defined by words.
Entry to campus exhibits is free. WSU Vancouver galleries are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
