The Crimson Spirit Award is a new effort by the WSU Employee Recognition Program to honor employees who perform in an exemplary manner and make outstanding contributions to the university community in accordance with WSU’s strategic goals and values.

“It is exciting to see the Crimson Spirit Award Program join the already established WSU employee recognition offerings: Length of Service; Quarter Century Club; President’s Employee Excellence Awards; and the Eminent Faculty Award,” said Steve DeSoer, executive director of Human Resource Services. “It provides a unique opportunity for anyone to nominate a WSU employee for recognition.”
A nomination form, criteria and eligibility requirements can be found by going ONLINE @ www.employee-recognition.wsu.edu and clicking on Crimson Spirit Award. WSU’s strategic goals can be found ONLINE @ www.wsu.edu/StrategicPlanning/strategic-plan.html.
The list of WSU core values is ONLINE @ www.wsu.edu/StrategicPlanning/core-values.html.
Faculty, staff, students and the general public may make nominations. A justification statement of 500 words or less must accompany the nomination form. Nominators will be anonymous.
Honorees will receive a commemorative glass sculpture, university wide recognition and a letter of congratulations from President Elson S. Floyd. Annually, Crimson Spirit Award recipients will be recognized at the Employee Recognition Reception, scheduled this year for Nov. 29.
