Record number of recruits at career fair

A record number of companies will be recruiting future employees at this year’s College of Engineering and Architecture Technical Career Fair, scheduled for October 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Engineering Teaching and Research Laboratory (ETRL).

Representatives from more than 110 high-technology companies will be attending the fair, including many from throughout the Northwest, such as Avista Corporation, CH2MHill and Kenworth Truck Company. Companies will also come from as far away as Virginia, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Ohio and Illinois. This is the 25th year of the CEA career fair.

“More than ever, these employers are looking for highly qualified engineers to solve critical 21st century problems in areas like energy, human health, computer and infrastructure security, and the environment,’’ said Bob Olsen, associate dean for undergraduate and student services for the College of Engineering and Architecture. “We’re looking forward to having our students help meet their needs.’’
