Greg Royer, vice president for business affairs at WSU since August 1999, has retired from that position as of Oct. 1.
President V. Lane Rawlins praised Royer’s work, both on various projects and in building strong, positive relationships between his office and other parts of the university.
Glenn Ford, associate vice president for business and finance and associate vice president for student affairs administration for WSU since November 2002, has been named interim vice president for business affairs by Rawlins.
Ford has been with WSU for 14 years. He has served as finance and administrative officer in the College of Pharmacy and director of finance and operations for WSU Vancouver.
Having completed 30 years of full-time service at WSU, Royer has reached the highest level of retirement benefits he can achieve under the PERS 1 retirement system. Rawlins said he hopes to negotiate a future agreement with Royer by which Royer will resume his service to the university in a similar position to the one he now holds, as is permitted by state law.
