Sculpture created by internationally renowned artist Jim Dine and a variety of other artists at the Walla Walla Foundry will be shown by the WSU Museum of Art from Aug. 20 to Oct. 17.
Curated by Chris Bruce, museum director, and Keith Wells, museum curator, the indoor and outdoor exhibitions will comprise the most ambitious display of artworks in the museum’s 30-year history. A selection of works by Dine will be in the museum gallery, while 11 works by him and eight other artists, all of whom work with the Walla Walla Foundry, will be on display around campus.
It is hoped the exhibit will inspire grants and gifts totaling $1 million or more to purchase some of the sculptures to remain in their locations permanently.
