Conference keynote talks open to community

Members of the Washington State University community are invited to attend two lectures by keynote speakers of WSU Extension’s 2005 All-Extension Conference.

The conference, titled “Creating a Culture of Change: Extension, Entrepreneurship, and Engagement,” will focus on the theme of entrepreneurship.

Cam Marston, author of “Managing Across the Cultural Divide,” will make a presentation titled “Four Generations in the Workplace: Communicating and Working with Each Other” at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1 in the CUB Ballroom. Marston will be discussing his belief that each generation has different interpretations of workplace issues, including loyalty, teamwork and sacrifice, that affect in-the-office interactions.

Dan Cotton, director, and Carla Craycraft, associate director of eXtension initiative, will present “eXtension: A National Web-Based Information and Learning Center” at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2 in the CUB Ballroom. Cotton and Craycraft will give an overview of “eXtension,” an initiative for a new, consolidated Web-based information and learning center for the national Extension system. “eXtension” would address issues such as food safety, agriculture and natural resources, youth development and the environment.
