Worn walkway to be revived

Renovations are underway on the Glenn Terrell Mall to replace worn parts of the heavily used walkway.

Wear and tear from vehicle and foot traffic caused the previous granite slabs to crack and break. The slabs were torn up last fall, but replaced with blacktop to endure the winter season.

RRACO Inc. of Spokane is installing the new granite slabs, which will measure three inches thick compared to the seven-eighths inches thick granite previously used. The increased granite thickness will be capable of withstanding the heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic of the walkway.

Project completion is scheduled for June.
