PULLMAN.– Christine Sodorff, director of field services and student teaching at the Washington State University College of Education, was selected by the Washington State Board of Education to receive the 2005 Washington Award for Excellence in Teacher Preparation.
The award was established by the 1990 Washington Legislature to annually recognize a educator of teachers for leadership, contributions to the field and commitment to education. Sodorff was nominated by the WSU Teacher Professional Education Advisory Board.
Sodorff will receive the award at the State Board of Education meeting June 16. The award includes a $2,500 cash grant to the WSU Teacher Professional Education Advisory Board.
Sodorff, who received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from WSU, was awarded the WSU Sahlin Faculty Excellence Award for Public Service in 1999 for her work in teacher education statewide.
