Staff, faculty and student women of color are invited to submit works that reflect their personal thoughts and experiences on redefining themselves within the traditional roles of society, for inclusion in WSU’s second annual traveling art show, “Reinterpreting Reality.” Pieces should be submitted to the Coalition for Women Students (CWS) for exhibit through Friday, Jan. 27.
Submission forms are available in the Women’s Resource Center, Wilson 8, on the Pullman campus. Most types of artistic expression — journal entries, poetry, music, photos, painting, sculpture — are welcome; however, performance art is a logistical problem to display.
Women may submit up to three pieced of art. Size is limited to 24×36 inches. Typically all entries that are submitted will be included.
The show will open at the annual CWS Women of Color Day luncheon in Pullman on Saturday, Feb. 4. Then the exhibit will travel to other WSU venues like the Black Women’s Caucus African American Women’s Conference, the Association of Pacific and Asian Women’s CAPTIVATE Conference, the Mujeres Unidas’ ELLA Conference and the NEW Leadership Conference. Selected pieces may be displayed at other programs on request.
