Nominations will be accepted through Thursday, Feb. 2, for the Women of Distinction and Woman of the Year Awards presented annually by WSU during National Women’s History Month in March.
The WSU President’s Commission on the Status of Women coordinates the selection process on behalf of the President’s Office and other university women’s groups.
The theme for the 2006 celebration will be “Women, Builders of Communities and Dreams.” Awards will be presented at the Women’s Recognition Luncheon on March 21.
An alumna, an employee, a student (graduate or undergraduate), a woman outside WSU, and a woman of service (military, fire/EMT, police, etc.) will be eligible for recognition as Women of Distinction. All nominees are eligible for the Woman of the Year award.
Nominees should have distinguished themselves in their careers, leadership and/or public service; should have contributed to the growth and success of others, especially women; and should not have received this award within the past five years.
Nomination forms can be acquired from Teri Ockwell at csw@wsu.edu.
