Improving writing one department at a time

WSU Writing Programs is offering a disciplinary focused writing workshop for one WSU department in August.

The workshop, which brings together selected departmental faculty for a day-long session, provides instruction and assistance to professors on how to improve the writing of students in their discipline.

All funding and catering for the workshop is provided by WSU Writing Programs.

Designed to further achieve the university’s continuing goal of improved student writing, Sharolon Carter, program coordinator for WSU Writing Programs, said the improvement in writing portfolios and general written communication among participating departments marks a significant step toward reaching this goal.

“We’re trying to better communication through writing and essentially make better writers of everyone,” Carter said.

For more information or to apply for the workshop contact Sharolon Carter at 335-5898 or Lisa Johnson at 335-7695.

Applications are due April 10.
