PULLMAN — A pilot project at Washington State University could change the way students listen to lectures, take notes and even study for exams. If the new technology takes off, students could be downloading lectures on demand, even listening to them again and again while working out or walking across campus.
Everywhere you look on college campuses you’ll see students listening to their MP3 players, but what if they weren’t listening to the latest top 40 artist but instead the latest lecture from their biology professor?
One professor, Ron Brosemer, professor molecular biosciences, had a radical idea this semester to make sure students were hearing his lectures.
Working with Nils Peterson, assistant director at WSU’s Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, the two made his lectures available online.
