WSU graduate student Ashley Giesa (left) teaches coffee growers in Maraba, Rwanda, how to use laptop computers to track coffee prices and communicate with clients around the world. Three students, along with PI Colleen Taugher and Virgil Crampton of the Center to Bridge the Digital Divide, and Jerman Rose, professor of Entrepreneurial Studies in the College of Business, traveled to Africa in July in collaboration with the Partnership for Enhancing Agriculture in Rwanda through Linkages (PEARL). Non-represented classified staff will receive a 3% general salary increase effective July 1. This adjustment was funded in the State of Washington’s 2023-2025 operating budget.
Food engineers from WSU will host the upcoming Conference of Food Engineering, Aug. 25–28 in Seattle to spark new ideas for a more efficient, sustainable global food industry.
