The Board of Regents of Washington State University will discuss the impact of rising energy costs and the progress of the search for a new university president at its regularly scheduled meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Room 241 of the Student Academic Center on the WSU Spokane campus.
The agenda for the meeting is available at https://regents.wsu.edu/Agendas-Notices/061012Agenda.doc
The regents will be asked to adopt a supplemental budget request seeking state funding to cover increased energy costs. WSU’s energy costs have risen from $13.5 million in the 2004 fiscal year to a projected $18.6 million in fiscal year 2007, an increase of 37.8 percent.
The regents will be updated on the progress of the search for a new university president. Members of the search advisory committee are holding forums around the state to gather public comments on what people would like to see in a new president. Information on the presidential search is available at https://presidential-search.wsu.edu/ .
The regents will also be asked to approve the schematic designs for an undergraduate classroom building at Washington State University Vancouver campus and for a clubhouse that will serve Palouse Ridge Golf Club on the Pullman campus.
The board will hold committee meetings in the Student Academic Center on Thursday.
