WSU earns clean audit for eighth year in a row

WSU’s annual audit report of accountability for public resources and basic financial statements is once again error free. According to the report, this is the eighth consecutive year that no findings were reported.

The audits are conducted by the State Auditor’s Office to ensure that WSU complies with state laws, regulations and internal policies. The areas examined during the audit are those with the highest risk for noncompliance, misappropriation or misuse.

“I am not positive that it is a record among state universities, although it very well may be,” said Barry Johnston, assistant vice president for business and finance, of the eighth-year-in-a-row error-free status.
