Decision making as it pertains to the economics of playing the stock market, contestant behavior on the game show “Deal or No Deal,” and actions of teams in the National Football League will be discussed by Richard H. Thaler, as he presents the College of Business’ annual Brinson Lecture at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, in Todd Hall 276.
Thaler, from the University of Chicago, is considered a pioneer in the fields of behavioral economics and finance. He has specialized in the study of decision making for saving and investing.
The lecture “is an incredible opportunity for anyone who ever hopes to retire to learn about how market psychology will impact their future,” said Richard Sias, WSU professor and Gary P. Brinson Chair of Investment Management.
Brinson, a WSU MBA alumnus, is a nationally recognized authority on global investing. After his retirement in 2000, he and his wife and two daughters created the Brinson Foundation, a philanthropic organization.
