PULLMAN – Rowing has been a part of the Palouse since 1970 when Cougar Crew was established at Washington State University. The men’s crew team is once again organizing a summer rowing program, Learn to Row 2007, for community member to become a part of the Cougar Crew tradition.
“We love this sport so much, it is only natural that we have found a way to share it with the community,” Head Coach
Arthur Ericsson said. “This summer we’ve extended the summer season and added the Junior and the Masters groups.”
The Learn to Row program sessions are co-ed and require no experience to participate. Sessions are available for juniors (ages 13 to 18) and adults. There is also a Masters session for experienced rowers.
Practices are held at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River three times a week: two weeknights from 5:45-7:45 p.m. and Saturday mornings. The program features a summer finale fun-race regatta hosted by Coeur d’Alene Rowing Association.
