RICHLAND — A former director of the Central Intelligence Agency will talk about “Energy, Security, and the Long War of the 21st Century,” at 5 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Battelle Auditorium, 902 Battelle Boulevard, located between George Washington Way and Stevens Drive in north Richland.
R. James Woolsey will discuss how terrorist acts against the United States over the last quarter of a century affect our energy and national security and how these global problems may be viewed today. Woolsey now is vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton.
The free public presentation is the 21st in an annual series sponsored by the Herbert M. Parker Foundation, in association with Washington State University Tri-Cities.
Since 1986, the Herbert M. Parker Foundation has sponsored seminars in the Tri-Cities to enhance public understanding of scientific and technological issues and their impacts on society. The goals of this continuing series include humanizing and connecting science, technology and world events while advancing public understanding of the benefits of “good science.” The Parker Foundation sponsors the series to honor Mr. Parker’s legacy of ethical and scientific standards and his concern for the protection of people and the environment.
