High school students visit college

RICHLAND — A group of 80 seniors from Granger High School will visit WSU Tri-Cities on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to learn about college.

Granger Senior Day is part of the MESA early outreach program operated through WSU Tri-Cities. MESA stands for Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement. The program works with students from ethnic groups underrepresented in those career fields.

The Granger seniors start their day at 9 a.m. in the East Auditorium on the WSU Tri-Cities campus.

They’ll hear about financial aid options from 9:30 to 10 a.m., then break into groups to tour campus and learn about the academic programs. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., followed at 12:30 p.m. by more breakout sessions. The Granger students leave campus by 2 p.m.
