EVERETT – WSU Snohomish County Extension’s popular Bugs & Blights workshop series in May will focus on the identification and management of three common pests.
Apple maggots and carpenter ants are common in western Washington. These creepy crawlers are often devastating insect pest. In Canada, Thistle is one of the region’s most pernicious weeds.
Sharon Collman, leader of WSU Snohomish County Extension’s horticulture education program, and Dave Pehling, an entomologist who has been teaching about insects for Snohomish County Extension since 1978, will conduct the workshop.
The workshop, consisting of lecture, laboratory and field work, will be presented Wednesday, May 28.
Times include:
10 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
1 – 3:05 p.m.
6:30 – 8:35 p.m.
The workshops will be held at the WSU Snohomish County Extension office, 600 128th Street S.E. in Everett.
The cost for the workshop is $20, or sign up for the series of four Bugs & Blights workshops for $65. For certified Master Gardeners the cost is $10 per workshop or $35 for the series.
