Anschell-Jensen jazz duo concert at WSU

 
PULLMAN – The Anschell-Jensen duo will present a jazz concert at WSU at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Kimbrough Concert Hall. The concert is free of charge.
Pianist Bill Anschell and saxophonist Brent Jensen will perform selections from their recent Origin Records CD release titled “We Couldn’t Agree More.”
Anschell is based in Seattle and is a winner of “Golden Ear” awards from Earshot Jazz including his selection in 2005 as Northwest Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year.
 
Jensen, a WSU alum, was described in Jazz Times magazine as “a saxophonist of impressive range, from mainstream to free.” He was a winner of the Woodwinds on Fire talent search in Jazziz magazine. Both artists have released numerous, highly acclaimed CDs which have received widespread national radio play.
 
 The program will include “I’m Old Fashioned,”  “Solar,” “What is This Thing Called Love?,” “Just Friends” and other jazz standards.
