VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver’s Campus Arts Committee has scheduled a public meeting on campus art at 1:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in Classroom Building, Room 160A.
Community members are invited to join the committee as members view a slide presentation of artists from the state Artists Resource Bank that is available for commission through the Washington State Arts Commission “Art in Public Places” program. The AIPP is a legislated program that provides half of one percent of state capital projects towards public art works. WSU Vancouver currently has two AIPP sculptures: “The Wailing Bell” by Wayne Chabre and “As the Eagle Flies,” a tapestry by Cecilia Blomberg.
Following the slide review, the committee will hear any comments from the public, convene a committee meeting and select a short list of 15-20 artists for further consideration.
